Rackmountable Discovery Pro is ELAC’s First Music System Designed for Custom Installers; Built-in 8 x 50W Amplifer and Pre-Outs Enable Five Fully Controllable Stereo Zones
SAN DIEGO, Calif. (Sept. 7, 2017) – ELAC, a leading global provider of high-performance speakers and electronics, today announced its new Discovery Pro Music Server, its first music server specifically tailored for the custom installer (CI) market. Designed to be the heart of any serious music system, the rackmountable unit enables music enthusaists to manage their personal collection and content from streaming services, and distributes multi-room audio to five fully controllable stereo zones throughout the home. Additonal wired and wireless zone can easily be added.
With an 8 x 50W amplifer along with a set of pre-outs, the Discovery Pro Music Server is capable of five wired audio streams, all managed by a highly intuitive ROON Essentials Control app available for MAC OSX, Windows, iOS and Android. Users can stream music to individual zones or group them, controlling volume and other playback features. Users also can select music from downloads, ripped CDs or streaming services and access rich multi‑dimensional metadata about their collection of music.
“The Discovery Pro Music Server provides a single unit solution for multi-room audio,” said Chris Walker, vice president of product development, ELAC. “However, the real power of the Discovery Pro is its capability to effortslessly manage a user’s music library and enjoy it anywhere in the home, including high-resolution music playback.”
The Discovery Pro provides a wealth of intelligence about a user’s music collection, including sorting content by genre; looking up a song’s lyrics and reviews; accessing an artist’s web page and social media channels; viewing images and news associated with the artist or song; and much more.
Placing a personal music collection on the Discovery Pro is a simple process. Users can connect either a hard drive to the rear mounted USB port or point the product to their NAS (Networked Attached Storage) device, and the Discovery will organize and gather rich meta-data for their entire music collection.
The Discovery Pro will be available in March at a retail price point of $1999.98 through custom installers.
